The Poetry of British India (2 vols) involves the collection and analysis of a considerable body of material, carried out without research assistance. It is the result of a four-year editorial project involving primary research on a corpus of over 100 publications, most of them not previously subject to scholarly investigation. Volume One collects the work of 30 authors, and contains c. 46,000 words of biographical, bibliographical and critical notes and introductions; Volume Two collects the work of a further 36 authors and contains a further 38,000 words in notes and introduction.
