Additional information

The developed system has been used by a group of researchers from the Institute of Plasma Research in India to create a novel type of high-power microwave generator (contact Dr. Rajesh Kumar, rkumar.lboro@googlemail.com). The Naval Research Laboratory (USA), where the plasma opening switch was first developed, has recognised the great opportunities demonstrated by the Loughborough miniature unit, in particular to drive the high-impedance loads used in many modern industrial applications. Contact Gerald Cooperstein (Cooperstein@nrl.navy.mil) and Daniel Hinshelwood (dave.hinshelwood@nrl.navy.mil).
