Dilemmas of Internationalism. The American Association for the United Nations and US Foreign Policy, 1941- 1948
This monograph (201pp) is the product of seven years’ research on the American Association for the United Nations and the difficulties Americans faced in defining the nature of their new international role in the 1940s. The AAUN lacks a formal archive so primary research data was collected from an extensive array of dispersed manuscript collections in 18 governmental, organizational, personal and oral history collections in seven archives in the USA over a period of more than four months (including two Presidential libraries, the US National Archives, the Library of Congress, New York Public Library, Columbia and Princeton Universities).
