Additional information

This paper studies hybrid first/second generation biofuel supply chains with focus on dedicated energy crops such as miscanthus and SRC (suitable for UK set-aside land) in addition to wheat and wheat straw to address environmental issues such as global warming, air quality and resource depletion. The impacts of technological learning on the economic and environmental performance of the supply chain are also investigated. Extension of the above work to account for uncertainty issues has been supported from an EPSRC-funded project (EP/J01074X/1) establishing the basis for a new collaboration with the group of Prof Maravelias (University of Wisconsin).
