Additional information

This book is the culmination of a University of Northampton Conference on Angela Carter that I co-organised in 2009. As well as co-editing the book, I wrote a major part (70%) of the introduction, and was the sole author of chapter one on Carter’s specific literary and political legacy for contemporary women’s writing. Like the conference it came out of, the book as a whole broaches new ground in considering Carter as a major public intellectual and includes coverage of Carter’s early writing, journalism, short stories, and dramatic works as well as the more widely-known fiction.
