Additional information

This paper reports research on the odour problems of low-cost wastewater treatment options by a multidisciplinary team from Brazil, Leeds and France (co-authors) utilising the laboratory skills of the former, practical applications at Leeds and the wind tunnel in France. As a result of this work Horan was asked to verify potential odour problems from a proposed, sustainable low-cost treatment system to treat the Severn and Wye Smokery effluent and present to a Public Inquiry. Further collaboration is ongoing to extend this work into the commercial models currently used for odour dispersion modelling.
