Additional information

Urea is an example of one of the more difficult systems to crystallise given the high solubility which produces high solids loading when crystallised from hot solutions. This paper gives a useful insight to the general behaviour of this system and more importantly the range of properties that one can get from a calorimetric system. More important, is the data the work generated, especially in using mixed water/methanol solvent. The work was funded as part of the industry collaborative EPSRC grants GR/K30636/01 (£96k pre-FEC) and GR/L68797/01 (£416k pre-FEC) and subsequently was included in EPSRC grant GR/R43877/01 (£578k pre-FEC) http://www.scientistlive.com/content/22386.
