Additional information

<28> This contribution probes the computational limits of bio-chemical systems. Unlike previous contributions in the field, this paper does not focus on fundamental (but irrelevant) physical limits of molecular computers, but shows how metabolic costs and noise limit real biochemical networks. This is significant because it makes it possible to understand the evolutionary constraints of biosystems. This work is also part of a larger research effort that has led to a COBRA (EU) funded collaboration with Dr. Steuer at the Humboldt University Berlin.
