Double-weighted statement

Samad’s Pakistan-US Conundrum: Jihadis, Military and the People – The Struggle for Control, is a work of extended scale and scope that is grounded in the author’s extensive empirical research in the region and his deep knowledge of it. The meticulous original research uses a range of new data – documentary sources, interviews, and participant observation – generated in a number of languages and gathered in various field trips to the region. The book is theoretically informed, drawing on literature from sociology, history, and politics, and concludes with policy prescriptions that reflect the complexity of the region’s ground reality.
