A revised and extended version of the 2008 Political Analysis paper appears in Chapter 3 of the book. This chapter extends the data analysis to 1981 (the article only covers 1979-80), contains a more detailed data analysis and a somewhat different specification of the text analysis. As a result, the empirical results in the book are slightly different from those in the article. In addition, with respect to the extent of the overlap, this only relates to 32 pages of 500+ pages. Put another way, less than 7% of the book presents a revised version of the article.
