Additional information

<02> This paper presents a new type of sensor obtained by coupling a piezo-electric material to the gate of a FET. The fabrication techniques had to overcome various challenges as for example the poling (in situ) of the piezo material after spin-coating it on the transistor gates. The search for high-resolution tactile sensors is an on-going and important field of research for robotics (e.g., for interaction and manipulation of objects). POSFETs represent a new approach to solve the problem, as acknowledged by the impact in the community (cf numerous citations).
