Additional information

<24> This is the journal paper that introduces and tests, with novel experiments, the open source iCub simulator developed at Plymouth. The simulator is widely used internationally (e.g. IIT Genoa, Bielefeld, CRN Rome, SSSA Pisa, Skovde, IDSIA Lugano, CRNS Lyon, Pierre Marie Curie Paris, Barcelona, IST Lisbon, Waseda University). Over 180 participants to the last 5 iCub-VVV Summer Schools (2009-2013) have been trained with this simulator. The language learning model presented in this paper has been realised in the physical robot as the key component of the demos of the Chris FP7 project (June 2011) and ITALK project (April 2012).
