A superconducting nanowire single photon detector on lithium niobate
In collaboration with Prof. R.H. Hadfield’s group at Glasgow University, developing single-photon detectors, we have developed routes for film deposition and advanced (e-beam) device fabrication at Cambridge. This first demonstration of working devices on lithium niobate paved the way for a major new collaboration and EPSRC grant with Prof. J.L. O’Brien at Bristol, Physics Department: Lithium Niobate Integrated Quantum Photonics (EP/I036303/1 at Cambridge £426,552; EP/I035935/1 at Bristol University £611,619; and EP/I036273 at Glasgow University £466,965). Project partners include the National Physical Laboratory, Nokia Research Center and Quantum Technology Research Ltd.
