Additional information

This paper describes the effect of shear connector spacing and layout on their capacity in composite beams. The research is funded by MCRMA and the findings of this research will contribute to the development of the new formulae for the revision of the Eurocode 4 (EN1994-1-1). Relevant sections of this important document include the design resistance of headed studs used within profiled steel sheeting (cl.6.6.4) and sheeting with ribs transverse to the supporting beams (cl.6.6.4.2).
