Additional information

Used as proof of concept and helped secure an EPSRC grant EP/F055986/1 and a Research Grants Council grant in Hong Kong (ref RGC c01087) to further research on factors affecting tranquillity. The research led to an engineering design tool TRAPT which will be applied in the RITCH project for creating tranquil spaces in a new experimental care home and will be used in designing tranquil spaces for the new Urology Unit at Royal Surrey County Hospital and for the “Healthy Christchurch” initiative in New Zealand. The paper informed the development of the standard ISO/DIS 12913-1 regarding the definition of soundscapes.
