Julie Snowden is included in this submission as a leading neuropsychologist in the Centre for Clinical and Cognitive Neurosciences. Professor Snowden is directly employed by the NHS (Salford Royal Foundation Trust), and holds the post of Honorary Professor of Neuropsychology in IBBMH. The University of Manchester is her only academic base. Her special interest is in young-onset degenerative brain disorders and their associated cognitive and behavioural changes. She has played an important role in characterising focal degenerative disorders including frontotemporal dementia and progressive aphasias. She has published more than 140 scientific papers and book chapters and provides critical neuropsychological expertise to IBBMH's dementia and neurodegeneration research themes, working with Mann, Gerhard and Pickering-Brown. During the REF period she has co-authored over 50 journal papers, the majority of which have an IBBMH senior author; she is first or senior author on many of these. Professor Snowden is a practitioner member of the British Psychological Society Division of Neuropsychology. She is also a member of a number of international research organisations including the World Federation of Neurology research group into Aphasia and Cognitive Disorders and the Memory Disorders Research Society.
