A taxonomy for and analysis of multi-person-display ecosystems
<21>This paper creates an analytic framework for public displays based on the authors own experience and a number of workshops organised by the authors and others at ACM CHI and AVI. It also represents a cross-disciplinary and cross-area collaboration between design, technology and theory. Amongst other things it incorporates theoretical aspects building on Dix's long-term study of the nature of spatial interactions, and his more practical work on intelligent lighting that is now entering large-scale commercial production. The paper creates a framework for the understanding of large-scale displays and also sets a long-term research agenda for the field.
