This work, carried out in collaboration with a team of clinical anaesthetists led by Prof. Jonathan Hardman (j.hardman@nottingham.ac.uk) from the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, was supported by grant EP/F057016/1 from the EPSRC Systems Approaches to Well-Being Call, and led directly to the award of a follow up research grant on ‘population-based modelling of pulmonary disease states’ ( EP/I036680/1 £452k).
