Additional information

This work was conducted in collaboration with UK industry and Oxford University (co-authors) resulting in unique data on the activity of harbour porpoises around an operational oil drilling platform. This work has generated significant academic and media interest. In 2009 the New Scientist wrote a directly related article (New Scientist, 21st March 2009 online: http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg20127004.400-oil-rigs-may-be-fit-for-porpois). Work has underpinned continuing success in securing research funding in the area of underwater noise and impact on the marine environment from industry, government and funding councils (>£685K since 2009).
