Additional information

<02>This is the first paper to examine the influence on the motivation of able-bodied persons to engage, sustain play, and relate during a shared task, and propose a collaborative tele-rehabilitation system for home rehabilitation. The paper applied a methodology derived from the intrinsic motivation inventory and showed that the results were favourable when compared with the technical literature. The paper provides a strategy for increasing motivation on able-bodied persons, applicable to impaired persons. The system was developed for and validated with participants in real-life conditions where robots were remotely connected successfully via the internet.
