<06> This paper addresses security issues related to the Internet of Things.

It analysed the potential security threats in 6LoWPAN and reviewed rigorously the existing countermeasures, in particular, the IDS-based solutions for countering internal threats. It looked at three novel QoS-related security threats that seriously affected the routing protocol for low-power and lossy networks. The paper introduced a novel two-layer IDS concept. The work forms core of Anh Tuan Le’s PhD work and has resulted in follow on publications on impacts of Internal threats (IEEE ISCC 2013) and newer work on Rank attack (IEEE Sensors Journal 2013.
