Sexual infidelity killings: contemporary standardisations and comparative stereotypes
This chapter addresses whether the controversial exclusion of sexual infidelity as a qualifying trigger for loss of control in the Coroners and Justice Act (CAJA) 2009 fully accords with appropriate contemporary standards and societal mores of the day. It contributes to a world-leading monograph that examines substantive issues relating to loss of control and diminished responsibility from domestic, comparative and international perspectives. It is the only monograph to comprehensively examine partial defences to murder subsequent to CAJA amendments. The US experience in traditional and reform MPC states and extant Scottish law provide a further novel source of comparative research.
