Additional information

The work presented an effective approach for updating the finite element model which can provide reliable estimates for structural updating parameters from identified operational modal data. The effectiveness and applicability of the approach was demonstrated by a real case study, the Canton Tower benchmark problem established by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The results demonstrated that the proposed technique can successfully adjust the finite element model of the structure using only a limited number of frequencies identified from the recorded ambient vibration measurements. The research led to further publications and collaborations with Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Xiamen University.
