This paper presents a key stage in an ongoing research programme, latterly in collaboration with the University of Western Australia (Prof. Mark Cassidy), developing a new methodology for modelling the load–displacement response of offshore jack-up platform foundations. This work underpins many geotechnical aspects of the recently published international standard ISO 19905-1:2012, for which Dr Martin and Prof. Houlsby (also of this Department) were members of the drafting committee (contact details available).
