Additional information

Dr Brack organised, performed and analysed all of the experiments in this study and wrote the manuscript. Prof Ng is the principle investigator for the project, designed the experiments, obtained funding and is the corresponding author.

This manuscript; the result of three years' experimentation, describes a complex series of experiments using a sophisticated, unique model developed by these authors. Dr Brack was the post-doctoral researcher who performed all the experimental work, analysed the data and wrote the manuscript. He was also significantly involved in writing a grant that part-funded the study. He now continues this research as a BHF Intermediate Fellow. Professor Ng, originated the project, obtained the funding, and contributed significantly to the writing of the manuscript. This manuscript represents a genuine collaboration with both authors contributing equally to the study design and direction.
