Additional information

This is the first paper to comprehensively evaluate thin film photocatalysts for process intensification in a spinning disc reactor. In particular, it is the first for this type of reactor to comprehensively evaluate the effect of operating parameters and reactor characteristics on the degradation rate of pollutants and photocatalytic activity for wastewater treatment. This work demonstrated that reaction rate maxima can be achieved: two further journal papers established this to be twice the maximum reaction achievable in a conventional annular photoreactor. This work directly led to an EU Marie Curie Career Integration Grant (SMDR; FP7-333952).
