Double-weighted statement

This monograph is based on extensive research in The National Archives, the British Library, the Haus-, Hof- und Staatsarchiv, Vienna, and the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris. Research has been supported by the AHRC and the British Academy. The monograph makes three original claims; that it was not Anne Boleyn but Henry VIII who held back from full sexual relations at the beginning of their relationship; that Anne was no proto-protestant; and that Anne may have committed some of the adulteries of which she was accused, an interpretation that makes redundant explanations in terms of faction.
