Here we demonstrate another enhancing property of the US2004131093 patent (which currently underpins the “blue note” JDSU laser product) which exploits the benefits of using multi-mode narrow line-width laser light. Funded by the TSB £2.5M working with Oclaro, Digital Projection and Covesion the work demonstrated for the first time 1.3W of green laser light from frequency doubling 49 high power laser emitters at 1068nm. Within this work specialised robust MgO PPLN devices were commercially fabricated for the first time by Covesion and has established them as a key global supplier.
