Additional information
This work is the first microfluidic probe of brain tissue for neuroscience studies, increasing the use opportunity of application for MFP compared to call work. This research has since been duplicated by research labs at UIC and UCLA, USA and acknowledged by IBM-research in Zurich, Switzerland. At publication, it was featured in the research highlights of the 'Lab on a Chip' Journal, a top percentile journal for the field of Microfluidics. Since publication, the novelty of this research has been discussed in three further review papers.
