Additional information

Bone adapts in response to its mechanical environment. This paper describes a novel approach for the 3D predictive modelling of the functional adaptation of bone, with particular focus on numerical stability and computational efficiency. This approach enables insights into the macroscopic morphology of bone and morphological changes to bone as a result of mechanical loading. A Wellcome Trust Value in People award funded this work.
