Additional information

The paper shows the ability of electrospun fibers of certain polymers to induce the spatial organization of fibronectin into biologically active networks able to direct the cell adhesion and extracellular matrix organization. The paper was pivotal in securing a Marie Curie Fellowship (2013-2016. PROTDEL 331655 FP7-PEOPLE-2012-IOF) to translate these results into preclinical in vivo models for bone regeneration. The paper also resulted in Cristina Gonzalez-Garcia being invited to collaborate on a review article in this field ("Proteins at Interfaces III", 2012, Chapter 22, pp 471-496 as a peer-reviewed book Chapter, DOI: 10.1021/bk-2012-1120.ch022).
