Additional information

This paper presents the approach that A*-STAR's Institute of Microelectronics, Singapore, developed for the control of the giant piezo-resistance effect arising at the nanoscale within silicon nanowires. This invention is protected by a patent application (WO/2011/005218) and led to a research programme on the development of highly sensitive, tuneable pressure sensors in collaboration with the National University of Singapore (Contact Prof. Chengkuo Lee, elelc@nus.edu.sg, Grant Nos. 102-101-0022 and 102-165-0084).
