Additional information

Data gathered during UK Civil Aviation Authority funded flight testing (CAA Contract 7D/S/1125) in support of efforts to update the British Civil Airworthiness Requirements (BCAR) Section T (www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/Paper2009_02red.pdf) were used to validate rotor-induced velocity models using an implicit method. The paper describes a framework for applying finite state wake models to rotorcraft in general, with the results validated against actual flight data. The results of this work were unique as they included blade flapping measurements, and the tests were all in autorotative flight.
