Double-weighted statement

This output merits double-weighting for two reasons:

1.  Original Methodology. The standard approach in this field is to provide a working definition of privacy before engaging in legal analysis. This output critiques this approach and develops a method of ‘refinement’ grounded in critical rationalism. In doing so, the output draws on a considerable body of material, ranging from historical sources to arguments from the philosophy of science.

2. Comparative element. Here the (common law-trained) author has had to immerse himself in the workings of a civilian legal system and devote lengthy periods to translating primary and secondary sources into English.
