Additional information
This paper reports an advanced and complex diesel particulate filter model that, for the first time, adopts a multi-step kinetics scheme including both solid and gas phases. This model has been proven to yield realistic flow predictions and provides deep new insights into channel flows. It assists the designers of advanced diesel particulate filter systems to achieve soot reductions of over 95%. The model has been used to support diesel engine particulate filter development with Caterpillar. Industrial contact David Heaton heaton_David@perkins.com
