Additional information

French Muslims: an analysis of four prominent speakers or activists, based in France, who can each claim to represent Muslim opinion in that country. Their views are very varied: from the fiercely anti-veil, anti-Muslim position of the French-Iranian Chahdortt Djavann; to the more negotiated assimilation of the French-Algerian Fadela Amara; the more confrontational Muslim liberation theology of Tariq Ramadan; and the highly provocative post-Muslim stance of Houria Boutelja. The work includes an analysis of the French debate on 'the veil‘ in 2004.
