Additional information

For the first time, this research paper presents real-time control and scheduling of Distributed Generation (DG) which is an important and challenging issue for increased levels of renewable penetration. The approach in this paper which, importantly, is substantiated experimentally, proves that it is possible to use a control mechanism based on the Optimal Power Flow tool. This research informed and is now being used in the Low Carbon Network Fund (LCNF) project with Scottish Power [Euan.Norris@scottishpower.com, £245,000, 2013-2016] on Accelerating Renewable Connections (ARC).
