Additional information

This Scottish Enterprise supported research was a ‘Current Topic’ in Microbe [Vol.4(5), p.216, May 2009], the American Society of Microbiology magazine, and was awarded  Times Higher Education Awards ‘Research Project of the Year’ in 2011. Trial systems are installed at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Brightwake Ltd [www.brightwake.co.uk, peter.bramley@brightwake.co.uk], and funding from the Chief Scientist Office and Scottish Infection Research Network is ensuring wider roll-out. The programme has forged strong research collaboration with NHS Greater Glasgow [John.Coia@ggc.scot.nhs.uk], Clyde Health Board and the US Food and Drug Administration, who currently fund further research [£100k, 2010-2013, Chintamani.Atreya@fda.hhs.gov].
