Additional information

This paper presents a new tuneable diode laser technique for the production of mid-IR laser radiation for the detection of methane gas. The research was funded by the EPSRC in collaboration with Atomic Weapons Establishment, AWE, [scott.mcculloch@awe.co.uk]. From the research progressed and experience gained in this work an industry funded project was initiated with M-squared Lasers Ltd to test their mid-IR laser system for gas sensing applications [nils.hempler@M2lasers.com].
