Additional information

The initial research on optical MEMS devices was supported by the Scottish Funding Council Research Pooling in Engineering (2008-2013); the research led to subsequent funding from the Electro Magnetic Remote Sensing Defence Technology Centre, a joint MoD/industry research partnership (which ceased operation in 2010) as part of their investigation of optical MEMS for future sensor systems for defence and security. Pre-prototypes of the optical MEMS devices were supplied to the electro-optic imaging section of E2V [Senior Engineer, Peter.Hobden@e2v.com] for application in their electro-optic imaging systems. Further training support was also provided to E2V engineers on using optical MEMS.
