Additional information

Following publication, the exploitation of the techniques presented in this paper was undertaken during a 2-year DTI-funded project (CHBT/006/00049) in collaboration with BAE Systems  [Executive Scientist: leslie.laycock@baesystems.com] leading to its implementation inside industrial laser systems at Powerlase Ltd [Director of Product Management and Advanced Research and Development: n.hay@powerlase-photonics.com] and Selex Galileo [Lead Laser Engineer:ian.elder@selexgalileo.com]. The adaptive-optics method described in the paper was also the backbone of an EPSRC grant [EP/K009982/1, £100k, 2012-14] which features an international researcher exchange with Macquarie University, Australia.
