The dimensions and internal nanostructured architecture of lipid particles lend themselves to applications in drug and biomolecular delivery. This paper demonstrates that through entrappment of these lipid nanoparticles in films of thermoreversible polysaccharide hydrogels they can be immobilized and thus provides significant potential for topical drug delivery applications.
