Double-weighted statement

This is a comprehensive monograph on collective security which, in contrast to most literature in the field, covers both UN and regional organisations, treating them as elements of a single system. The derivation, and explanation, of the principles that govern their mutual relationship offers a significant new insight into this area of law. It is unique in making analytical comparisons across a range of security frameworks. It brings together the practice of various regional security actors, which has rarely been the subject of detailed academic review, and integrates it into a new, holistic conception of collective security.
