Significance of output:

This is the first quantitative treatment of the effects of gas evolution on the operational charge-discharge behaviour of an all vanadium flow battery (which has become the benchmark redox flow battery for energy storage) using a mathematical modelling approach. This work was enabled via collaboration with a UK industrial company: Re-Fuel (now RedT) Ltd through a TSB funded project. Journal impact factor 3.325.
