Significance of output:

Shell Global Solutions (Dr Robert I Taylor, Technology Manager, Robert.i.taylor@shell.com) chose to sponsor us this research based on our expertise in multiple sensor and intelligent signal processing. This project aims to develop novel sensors for engine oil age detection. The collaborations with Shell have significantly influenced the success of the project as Shell has also provided well defined aged oils throughout the project. This research has also led to a new research initiative with Gill Research and Development (Dr Oliver Blacklock, oliver.blacklock@gilltechnology.com) (~£10k consultancy and further research projects in thick-film pH sensors and EIS methods are currently under discussion).
