Additional information

This paper was the first to demonstrate that only academic quality, measured by the new ECERS-E ( Sylva et al. 2010)had benefits at age 11. More global quality as measured on the well known ECERS-R rating scale did not lead to higher academic attainment at end of primary education. The findings from this study led to a successful bid to the EU for funding to study the nature and effects of pre-school quality across Europe (Project CARE 2014-2017)
