Investigative Journalism in China: Journalism, Power and Society
This first book (268 pages;97200 words) on the topic of the relation between Chinese investigative journalism and society fills a gap in the literature in the area of journalism studies. Its analysis is drawn from a set of extensive and difficult-to-access empirical data collected over 6 years: including six-month participatory observation at two Chinese newspapers and in-depth interviews (1-3 hours) conducted with nearly 100 media workers.25% of research time during REF period has been involved. Seven out of the nine chapters in the book that address different aspects of the topic can be written into at least four journal articles.
