<28>The University of Ulster and Belfast City Hospital/Queen’s University Belfast have collaborated since 2006 to design, develop and evaluate technological solutions to support memory problems associated with dementia. The memory support system developed in this paper is the first of its kind to employ personalized video-based reminders, delivered via a mobile device. The outcomes, which involved direct user evaluations, led directly to securing funding for the ESPRC Match-Plus Project (EP/G012393/1) to support continued product design of the technology through detailed assessment of its impact on quality of life of users at varying stages in its development.
