This paper reports outcome of an EPSRC Industrial CASE project with BAE Systems (EP/G501424/1). Gao was the principal investigator. The dynamic knowledge framework proposed was regarded by the company’s senior management as highly innovative and beneficial to its business which led to a second project (EP/H501258/1) started one year later (clive.simmonds@baesystems.com). Upon the project’s success and at the request of BAE Systems and several other companies, Gao obtained funding from EU Interreg Programme to further develop the idea and transfer it to companies in the regions of both sides of the Channel (Ref 4476).
