Additional information

The demand for Li based batteries as a major power source is rapidly increasing. Given the enormous demands on available global lithium resources, concerns over lithium supply and its cost have arisen.

With sodium’s high abundance and low cost as well as its suitable electrochemical properties, rechargeable batteries based on Na hold much promise for energy storage applications. This is the first publication on low temperature Na-ion batteries where we hold a patent. This work has opened up new research paths in the field of low temperature Na-ion batteries and has been highlighted on Renewable Energy Global Innovations' webpage.
